At village scene, all the people ,their wives and their children were present at the place where the black box was there.the black box had the names of the people were included,was there.
All the people desperately waiting for their names to be announced at the place.the lottery was conducted by Mr summers at June 27 as there were different programs like halloween programs, the teen clubs and square dances were also conducted.
Short description of Mr summers was there. He was round faced, jovial man and he ran the coal business, and the people feel sorry for him because he had no children, and his wife was criticized for him.
Bill hutchinson was standing with Mr summers who were about to finish the ceremony by pulling out the name of the winner of lottery from the marked folded papers it had mark of black dot with black coal pencil.the winner name was Tessie hutchinson.
Tessie hutchinson oppose the process of lottery as she found it unethical.but the village people got angry at Mrs hutchinson . They started throwing stones and pebbles at her. They started to hit the lottery winner, Tessie hutchinson.
